Licensed Fool

Even though there are professional dancers, most can find enjoyment from dancing no matter their skill level. Imagine a world where only professionals dance and there are no venues for regular people to dance in. What sort of world do you believe that to be?

Bjørn Venø feels that there are no spaces where one can safely explore without being evaluated, no venues where ideas of correct and incorrect behaviour are discarded, no places to truly explore. Everywhere Venø looks there is a structure of accepted behaviour, a scale from which one is evaluated, a uniform and some sort of group signifier. Most spaces, organisations, groups and religions have pre-existing rules of conduct. From Venøs perspective, our society is upside down and this is the reason he created the project 'The Licensed Fool'.
